Youth Social Action Winners 2024
As of 2024, bloss.m celebrated its first cohort of students for the pilot year of 2023/2024!
bloss.m Scholars is on a mission to empower every Black individual in the UK and beyond. We kickstarted our leadership program with 54 extraordinary young women from Norbury High School and St Paul’s Academy. Over the past ten months, we immersed these bright young minds in the world of youth social action. We showed them the importance of problem-solving and how to use their voices in the community, ultimately developing their skills to become leaders.
Each school formed different groups based on what they were passionate about. This included topics such as homelessness, sports, safe spaces for women and youth, and self-care practices.
The event at Latham and Watkins marked the beginning of a significant journey of empowerment and discovery.
At the end of the school year, each group had the opportunity to pitch for £1,500 to implement their projects in the community. We brought the schools together for a lively evening of presenting their final ideas to a panel of judges.
A huge and heartfelt thank you to our esteemed judges for their invaluable assistance in determining which groups would receive the £1,500 grants and delivering encouraging messages to the young girls. Your commitment and dedication have made a significant impact, inspiring the next generation to pursue their dreams and ambitions.

“I felt nervous coming here, but it became real when I arrived, telling the judges what I like to solve in the world. My highlight has been working with my group. Even though we had so many ideas, we all had to decide on the best options, and I loved my experience.”
Upon our successful completion, we are now continuing to support these schools in bringing their ideas to life. We are aiming to implement these innovative ideas within the community and nurture the passion and confidence that these young women have developed.
